This morning I woke up to some tragic news .. not just one, but TWO of my friends are no longer here with me.  These two guys are a handful .. I can only remember the good times that we laughed and enjoyed our favorite sport, BASKETBALL.  Yes this is a fashion and entertainment blog but these are two very special people to me and I feel like the rest of the world should know just how much they mean to me as well as my closest friends.

Before the blogging and fashion and all of that came around I was a hooper.  If you grew up with me in my hometown Minneapolis, Minnesota you would know that.  I am very thankful for BASKETBALL.. it’s more than a sport to me.  Basketball introduced me to some of my closest friends who I now call family.  Nobody could score and shoot the ball like Dela and Huey … WETBALL every time.  I will never forget the teen nights at Farview Park.. Clyde Turner basketball camps.. open gym.. the gym would be packkked..  AAU tournaments and high school games etc.  I wished that the world would be able to see the talent that these two had, but unfortunately that wasn’t able to happen.  I can remember days at a time being at (my boyfriend at the time) Jerome’s house and all the guys would be piled over there.. ‘The Family’ is what we called it.. chillen, kicking it, endless laughs.

I’m grateful to have the memories that I do.  The last time that I saw Jordan when I visited home he greeted me saying ‘Hey Superstar’ and I replied ‘I’m trying to get like you’ .. that’s how it always went .  We talked for a second, I gave him a hug and that was that.  I am so hurt  But there is nothing that I can do now.  Until we meet again.. save a spot for me. XO
